Freemason’s Hall is located in Egmore, chennai and was constructed by the East India Company, during the British rule. It is another fine monument built during the British rule, and it stands as an example for the living style of the British, who inhabited the ancient city of Madras.

Freemason’s Hall was originally constructed to be used as military lodges, and it is another fine piece of architecture, built during the British era, with Indian workers.It is a double storeyed structure, built in the Greek style of architecture with huge pillars around the building.The building has one large room that has the capacity to accommodate 200 people at a stretch. Italian tiles and marbles have been used extensively. The building also has a lot of Masonic emblems on the walls as decorative pieces.

Freemason’s Hall in Egmore is easily accessible from any part of the city as the area is well connected with public transport. The building had slowly lost its luster due to the ravages of time, but was revived recently and is back with its original magnificence and glory.
